Wouldn't It Be Nice to see the famous all-American band, The Beach Boys, at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh? God Only Knows how this would make for an unforgettable Long Island summer experience, with Good Vibrations all around and nothing but Fun, Fun, Fun (okay, I’m done). But let’s rewind to the beginning, shall we, Darlin’? (Okay, I’m really done now.)
It was a rainy, cold day in April when I heard that The Beach Boys were playing at the Northwell Health Jones Beach Theater in August. All I could think about was how iconic it would be to see The Beach Boys at the iconic Jones Beach. Imagine the perfect summer day in August, with the salty ocean breeze in my hair, a blue sky and sun shining down. I could already see myself dancing and singing along to Mike Love’s Kokomo, brushing the sand off after a long day of surfing the waves (I don't surf, but you get it). We’ll get there fast and then take it slow (haha, last one). I was SOLD. Two tickets later, I texted my sister, told her to block out August 8th, and cranked up Barbara Ann in celebration. Beach Boys, here we come!!
Now fast forward to August 8th—concert day. Unfortunately, the weather didn't quite cooperate with my Beach Boys under the sun fantasy. That cold, rainy day in April decided to make a comeback, as Long Island was prepping for Storm Debby to sweep through the region. Bummed, but hopeful, I held onto the forecast that promised no rain during the concert. So, we geared up, ready for anything.
When preparing for a concert at Jones Beach Theater, there are a few things to keep in mind. They allow one closed water bottle per person (no alcohol), and only small handbags or clear 12x6x12 stadium-approved bags. Here’s the link to the one I purchased. Although it’s summer, remember it’s always a few degrees cooler by the beach at night, so long pants and a jacket are essential (a poncho too, if rain’s in the cards).

We arrived about an hour before showtime, easily finding parking in Field 5. I packed my essentials: poncho, water bottles, wallet, and an extra jacket. The newly renovated Northwell Health Theater is stunning! The check-in process was a breeze, and the staff were incredibly friendly—honestly, the best concert check-in I’ve experienced.
We found our seats easily, though staff were plentiful and ready to help if needed. The view? Gorgeous. The sunset over the water surrounding the theater was a sight to behold, and you could smell the salt air from the beach nearby. We waited in anticipation for The Beach Boys, the sky looking a little ominous, but still holding out. And then—finally—they came on!

We couldn’t contain our excitement as we sang and danced along. But just as we were getting into it, the sky opened up. Rain came down hard for about ten minutes, but that poncho and extra jacket came in clutch. Even though we were drenched, it only added to the fun. Laughter, singing, and dancing in the rain—we didn’t care. It was just two sisters and The Beach Boys, enjoying the most perfect Long Island night with the most imperfect weather. While many people left, we stuck it out, determined to enjoy every moment.

To say it was a memorable experience is an understatement. Seeing The Beach Boys during their Endless Summer tour at the Northwell Health Jones Beach Theater was absolutely unforgettable. The rain, the music, the energy—it all made for a night I’ll never forget. And while the concert ended, my love for Jones Beach Theater is just beginning. I can’t wait for the next one!
